Michelle and her husband, Doug, believe it is important for students from the United States to understand what it is like to live in a developing country. It is important for students to understand the “bubble” in which we live in the United States. In addition, Michelle and Doug believe it is important for students to understand that the American version of happiness is not the only version of happiness.
This blog chronicles the two and a half months Michelle, Chase, and Kristin spent living with an indigenous family and teaching in an indigenous school in La Calera, Ecuador.
